So what to do in the mean time? well I am going to make this spot something of a learners corner. My machine is a no frills machine, but darn if I am going to let that stop me. If I can teach myself to embroider, then I can do this. Hey it's not like I am trying to meet a quality guy (the urban myth) get married and have babies... NOW THAT IS HARD WORK!!
So what have I accomplished so far....
In my searches I have found some useful information, and in turn have accomplished one small project. A cutlery holder.

I found this on the web, and thought hey this is easy. What a good way to start . Forgive the grainy photos. I used my camera phone.
So I did it! YES!! I AM A SEWING GODDESS!!! well no. I actually screwed up the first one.... (I didn't read the instructions because I am a teacher by trade and why should I read instructions when I know everything anyway right?) As a point of note the trickiest part of this whole thing was the ribbon placement... my brain could just not wrap around the instructions for it, but then realized my error on trial and fixed it right up. My dad loves it for camping. I have been charged with making 2 more. I am going to make those from a heavier material. We'll see how it goes. My next project is going to be some napkins for a friends wedding gift. Fingers crossed. If you find any fun, non-tacky sewing projects let me know and I will give them a go. There are some great ones out there, I have been looking and I will keep you posted.
